Limited Outpatient addiction services

In recovery but psychologically stuck?

Some people genuinely want to live without mood altering chemicals but have trouble finding peace without them. If you see the value in working through emotionally charged issues that are holding you back and have some success in having done so, I can help you grow to where this process becomes valuable, welcome and your new standard, done with confidence and competence. It is always done within your current capacity and is never overwhelming. Rolfing develops new strengths without going into trauma stories. I became a Rolfer to help people in recovery find this level of emotional capacity and freedom. Somatic experiencing is another way to resolve unfinished traumas gradually, bypassing much of the verbal processing that can stop true resolution.

IV NAD will help your brain normalize physiological function. Many brains still have toxic impairment even after withdrawal syndromes are resolved.

Outpatient alcohol benzodiazepine, and Opiate withdrawal

I also do outpatient (at home) alcohol and benzodiazepine for selected patients. The goal is to maintain medical safety and detox at a comfortable gradient so comfort and function can be maintained. I do not accept everyone and there are some important conditions that must be met. An initial history and physical and interview are done to determine suitability.

Alcohol usually takes a week to ten days. Suitable alcohol patients do better than in the hospital and need about one-third the sedative medicines. With 100’s of alcohol withdrawal patients I have never had an alcohol withdrawal seizure.

Benzodiazepines take several months; it requires a very gradual taper. The first goal is to prevent a seizure. Then comes keeping anxiety and insomnia to a minimum. Somatic Experiencing therapy is very helpful to reduce psychological anxiety. There is a physiological anxiety with benzodiazepine withdrawal that is best managed with medicines.

Opiates can be ten days to 3 weeks, the goal is to keep COWS score below 6, below 3 is better. Fentanyl is usually present in street opiates these days and complicates detox significantly. For that reason, I will only help a patient withdraw from prescribed opiates, not street opiates.
